Action on Disability (AoD) is a Disabled People’s Organisation based in West London, led by and for Disabled people. Every day, Disabled people face barriers that limit choice, independence and opportunity — not because of who they are, but because society isn’t designed to include everyone. AoD exists to change that. We work alongside Disabled people to remove barriers, challenge inequality and support independent living. Our work is rooted in the social model of disability, focusing on changing systems, attitudes and environments — not people. Our services include Young Lives and Families, supporting Disabled children, young people and their families; Independent Living Advice and Support, helping people navigate housing, care, benefits and rights; Our Place Our Voice, creating space for disabled people to influence decisions and be heard; and Employment support, helping Disabled people access and stay in meaningful work. Everything we do is shaped by lived experience and co-production. Disabled people are at the heart of our organisation — guiding our services, priorities and decisions. When you raise funds for Action on Disability, you help remove barriers, strengthen independence and ensure Disabled people have choice, control and a strong voice. Together, we’re working towards a fairer society where Disabled people can live the lives they choose.
