Manchester Marathon 2021 · 10 October 2021 ·

For nearly 30 years, St Cuthbert’s Centre has been dedicated to improving the lives of homeless, vulnerable, elderly and socially isolated people. Our mission is to ‘prove the community cares’ by promoting wellbeing, dignity and inclusion to those who often face social stigma and discrimination.

Story

Refettorio Felix a beautiful space in Earls Court, London, run by the charity St Cuthbert’s to support homeless and socially isolated people through the power of a shared meal.

Partnering with surplus food charity The Felix Project, they provide access to restaurant-quality food, therapeutic mental health services, and skills training to support vulnerable people in the community. Even throughout Covid lockdowns, up to 1000 meals a day were being served from Refettorio Felix - tackling both food poverty and food waste in one.

The space was designed by Isle Crawford, with a strong belief that beautiful environments can have a transformative effect on both mental health and our sense of dignity and belonging. It is so beautiful that it is where Rory and I will be getting married later this year.

I’ll be running my first marathon in Manchester on Sunday 10th October to raise money for this brilliant, multi-tasking and transformative charity. Every single donation is massively impactful for a small and localised charity - and will help me power through the many many many miles!

Thanks so much

Ishbel
