Story
Chris is attempting to complete the National Three Peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon) within 24 hours on foot - oh and a little bit of driving in between on June 18th.
Thomas, Lucy, Sophie and Chris will attempt to keep a cycle turning for 24 hours continuously in the garage on July 9/10.
Thomas and Lucy have gained invaluable practical skills and knowledge since they were 11 years old by shifting ballast, learning and driving steam trains and refurbishing engines - even involving welding, and angle grinding.
Too often young people exit education or university with little practical "common sense".
Help support the Downs Light Railway Trust's Centenary Development Programme by donating today! Your donation will help the Downs Light Railway Trust promote and encourage more young people to enter the engineering, technology, and science industries.
It will enable the building of a workshop with facilities where young people, from the age of 7 and upwards, can be carefully exposed to hard work, fun and engineering. All this compliments science and technology learning from an early age.
Most importantly it will enable more young people from the local community to participate in and enjoy the country's oldest minitature steam railway.
.. here is the best bit.. a local company will donate 20 times, yes 20 times, any donations received to this page. Please give generously.
