Education and support for deprived children in the slums of Kibera and rural areas of Kenya.

Story

Kenya Children of the World An estimated 30% children in Kenya do not attend school. Most of these children are from deprived backgrounds where the day to day struggle includes the shortage of food, clean water, sanitation, and access to education. Almost 26% of all youth aged between 5 and 14 years are forced to forego education due to extreme poverty. We hope to support schools in the rural areas and the children who live in the slums of Kibera. Children who attend school are less likely to face the dangers and offers from gangs who are ready to assimilate them into gangs and criminality and worse traffic them into sexually abusive and punishing work. Many children work on plantations in back breaking work while others work in back street alleys in dangerous and horrendous conditions. Help me protect these children and give them the oppotunity to live, dream, and aspire.
