In Loving Memory of Ishwarbhai Govind Tailor

It’s with great sadness and regret that Ishwarbhai Govind Tailor passed away on 16th March 2022 aged 79. He leaves behind his life long and beloved wife Indumatibhen Tailor and his children Nick Tailor, Bina Tailor, Jitendra Tailor, Vipula Tailor and much loved Blacky (the cat).
Ishwarbhai was born in Amalsad, India on 20th February 1943. He hitchhiked and sailed to England with his brother, 62 years ago from a small town of Thika in Kenya. They endured various hazards and difficulties; travelling through various continents and countries for a few years before finally came to settle in the town of Luton, Bedfordshire.
Those early days (1960s), every Indian that arrived from Kenya was assisted and welcomed by Ishwarbhai and his family at their humble abode, prior to each making a life on their own.
The brothers love of cricket led to (founder members) formation of Luton Indian Cricket Club. To this day never has any weary traveller been turned away from the Tailor household.
The family have chosen to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation in memory of Ishwarbhai. The British Heart Foundation do excellent work in raising awareness of heart disease in the South Asian community.
