Isilda passed away on 21 Feb 2022 in the amazing care of the Northern General’s amazing Macmillan Palliative Care Unit.

My mum is Isilda Del Carmen Lang, née Cuevas-Aguilera, a pinnacle of Pitsmoor and Burngreave in Sheffield. 

A childminder and the face of St James' Parents and Toddlers for over 30 years until she was taken ill, she has always dedicated her time to the community she lives in. Generations of children have grown up under her watchful eye and their parents have become the best of friends. 

Some of these friends, led by Hilary and Luise, worked with mum to put together a cookbook - stemming from the idea of their children loving her food when they were in her care growing up. You can read an online version of that here, including contributions from some of those kids:

We did some physical copies and people wanted to donate money, so we've set up this JustGiving to make sure all monies go directly to St Luke's, who continue to support mum through her illness in the most demanding of times. The money raised so far (thank you!) is being paid into this page.
