Donating my hair

Donating my hair · 23 August 2019
On the 23rd of August I will be donating 15 inches of my hair to Banbury Postiche, the largest supplier of wigs to the NHS. This provides wigs and hairpieces for those who have lost their hair due to illness and treatment such as chemotherapy. Alongside this donation I'd love to do what I can to raise some money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Having lost two amazing women to cancer in the last year, it has been tough year for my family and I. I have never experienced something so heartbreaking as watching someone lose a battle they didn't choose to fight. By raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, I'd love the chance to give back for the support and comfort that was given to my family by the Cornhill Macmillan Centre. This is a hospice funded by Macmillan which gives so much to the patients and families (including a heck ton of biscuits!). Any donations, big or small, goes such a long way and will provide incredible help and support to so many others.
I have always loved having long hair, however, putting things into perspective , this is such a tiny sacrifice to make in comparison to what those suffering from cancer have to go through with treatments such as chemo and radiotherapy. So many people lose not just their hair but their independence and their freedom.
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan Cancer Support is here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support.
