Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page!

My name is Isla and I aim to walk a total of 100 miles during August in order to raise money for the Ellen Macarthur Cancer Trust. The trust does ground-breaking work in terms of supporting young people both during cancer and after it; they played a major part in my emotional and mental recovery post treatment. By providing both residential and sailing trips to young people who have experienced cancer, the Trust is able to create an environment that makes life as a young person who has experienced cancer feel less lonely and more manageable.

After being diagnosed with and treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia as a child, the trust has been able to provide me with support outside of the hospital environment. I first begun being involved with them when I was 13, and now as an 18 year old I have attended five EMCT trips which have all been incredible. I want to help raise money for the Trust to even slightly help give back to the charity that has helped me so much.

The money that is raised for the Ellen Macarthur Cancer Trust is truly changing young peoples' lives. Any donations and shares would be wonderful, thank you so much for any support, I cannot express how good of a cause the Trust is.

Thank you!

About the charity

The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust inspires young people aged 8-24 to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond cancer. For many young people simply picking up where they left off before their diagnosis just isn’t possible. So, when treatment ends the Trust’s work begins.
