Why not take part in the RNLI Cornwall Virtual Challenge 2021 and help the RNLI save lives at sea. The Challenge is to complete the distance between one of more Cornish Lifeboat Stations by running, walking, cycling, swimming or any other means.

Story

We are taking part in the Cornwall RNLI virtual challenge 2021 to help support the RNLI's volunteer crews in saving lives around our coast.

Isla, aged 10 and Sennen aged 7 will between them run, walk or cycle the distance between all the Cornish Lifeboat Stations. There are a total of 13 RNLI lifeboat stations around the coast of Cornwall, from Bude to Looe the total distance is 228 miles, so at least 114 miles each.

To accompany them I will also run the total distance between 1 Feb to 31 March.

The RNLI has been a huge part of our lives for over 20 years, with Mike (Dad) celebrating 20 years of service on the Bude Lifeboat last year.

Please support the children in their epic challenge 😊 - they weren’t satisfied by only doing the Bude to Sennen distance as I first suggested!

Please note we are doing this locally not actually between the stations.

We will be keeping a weekly tally.

RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.
