Story
Hello, I’m Isla and I am 12. I attend a local Suffolk School, Thomas Gainsborough in Sudbury.
As part of my Silver Values Award for my school I will be raising funds for charity by completing a Half Ironman Challenge – this involves a 1.9km swim, 90.1km cycle and a 21.1km run (over the course of 3 days) on the Queen’s Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend in June.
A little about my chosen charity…
Nerve Tumours UK is a charity very close to our family because my brother Alex was diagnosed with a condition called NF1 (Neurofibromatosis 1) when he was only 6 months old. Over 26,500 people in the UK have Neurofibromatosis and this charity helps improve the lives of children like my brother by making sure they have access to the help and support they need.
A little about my challenge…
The first leg of my challenge will be a 1.9km open water swim on Thursday 2nd June at a local lake.
The following day on Friday 3rd June will be the second leg, cycling 90.1km around Suffolk (with at least one cake stop!)
The final leg will take place on Saturday 4th June where I will run a 21.1km half marathon around Suffolk/Essex and finish back at our home in Great Horkesley.
Thank You...
I am very grateful for you taking the time to read this and supporting my fundraising challenge.
