Tough Mudder 2015 · 3 May 2015 to 25 October 2015 ·
As many of you know last year Sam and I tragically lost our baby daughter Isla Beau, who was stillborn on the 10th May 2014. We signed up and ran Tough Mudder in October last year with an amazing group of people that helped us to raise a staggering amount of money for SAND's (Stillbirth & Neonatal death charity), with Isla's first birthday fast approaching we have again committed to running Tough Mudder on Sunday May 3rd, in her memory and to raise further awareness and money for SAND's.
The amazing group of people that have signed up to support us and run tough mudder this year include. Myself, Sam Mager, Fiona McIntyre-Fry, Nicola James, Danny Davis, Will Willis. Thank you and good luck to us all :)
The event is a team event, challenging your strength, stamina, mental grit and more importantly your teamwork. It involves 12 miles of hard terrain and mud, with 20 odd obstacles in between, obstacles include a swim through an ice filled container, tear gas, high walls and electrocution! Whilst no one should have to suffer the tragic loss of a baby, it unfortunately happens more often than you realise; every year in the UK over 6,500 babies die just before, during or soon after birth. That is 17 babies a day lost to parents that were preparing for them to come home, to love and to cherish as any parent would, only to have them ripped away from them before they have a chance to live.
SAND's is the Stillbirth and Neonatal death charity, they operate throughout the UK, supporting anyone that has been affected by the death of a baby and promoting and funding research to reduce the number of babies that are lost. For more info visit www.uk-sands.org
