On Monday February 6th at 4.17am, a massive magnitude 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Southern Turkey followed by subsequent 6.4 and 6.5 magnitude earthquakes. These deadly earthquakes were also felt in Syria and Lebanon . Many buildings collapsed including residential buildings where many families were sleeping due to the early hours of the morning. The current death toll in Turkey alone has risen to 284 with 2,323 people injured. In Syria, the death toll is currently at 230 people and the injuries have now risen above 500. Numbers are expected to rise drastically as rescue workers start to dig through the rubble of collapsed building. Islamic Relief teams in Türkiye and Syria are on the ground now.
