Waxathon · 12 August 2021

Every working day in the UK two construction workers take their own life. We are the only charity providing emotional, physical and financial support to the construction community through our 24/7 Helpline.

Story

On 12th August, we are going to be spinning the pumps on the new Islington Pumping Station for the first time.

To celebrate this momentus event, I have for some reason agreed to wax a quarter of my body every time the 'On' button is pressed on each of the four pumps.

Pump 1 : Right chest and right back

Pump 2 : Left leg

Pump 3 : Left chest and back

Pump 4 : Right leg

I am hoping that the meticulous checks that will be carried out prior to the pumps being started up will lead to everything going according to plan and me not looking like a patchwork quilt for the forseeable future.

I am doing this to raise money for the Lighthouse Club, the only construction charity to provide mental, physical and financial wellbeing support to the construction community and their families. They provide a 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline and App, both of which offer expert guidance on a huge variety of wellbeing issues.

Please help me celebrate this significant milestone on the Project and raise money for The Lighthouse Club who provide such comprehensive support of our construction community.
