Once all the aches and pain subsides, the sense of achievement can grow exponentially, the words ''I'm never doing this again'' then change to ''here, look what I've achieved". I want this team to be very proud of what they have done.

The sense of pride I have for our team cannot be put into words or measured.  Everyone played their part, spirits were kept high by the others as we all at some point hit a personal wall. We physically and mentally patched each other up. 

After eleven long hours we completed the circuit, Yes we actually made it! 

A target of ten and a half hours was set, however on a very busy day  and a few pinch points on the hills/through stiles we missed our second target timing, but that was the only one we missed. The lost time was made up and plan was executed well despite the battle between tiredness, blisters, cramp, self doubt and personal demons.

Michal Luczun replaced Liam Eyres at the last call and truly stepped up, Peter Lynch & David Jones showed their usual grit and determination to ensure the job gets done and ensured that we all got over line. Dominic Hobson joined us and unsurprisingly was as strong as an Ox and three times more stubborn in his efforts to succeed. 

Our guardian angel was Paul Billington was there to support from start to finish, timing those pit stops perfectly and rewarding the lads with bacon butties and cups of tea. Honestly, we wouldn't have made it without him. We all extend a MASSIVE thank you for your help and are pleased you enjoyed your time in the Yorkshire dales and Ribble valley. 

Lastly an even BIGGER thank you from all of us to all of those who have generously donated to the Stroke association, we have smashed through the £1,000 target and would expect to see a few more donations in the coming days.

Maybe something a little different in 2022........

The Event VV

The Yorkshire three peaks route is 24 miles (38.6km), includes 1585m (5200ft) of gruelling ascent to be completed within 12 hours.

Its crosses through some of the most stunning scenery in the UK and unveils many interesting geological features.
