My Mental Health:

For the past 4 years of my life I have dealt with severe GAD (generalised anxiety disorder). It has been one of my biggest weaknesses yet at the same time one of my biggest strengths. It has caused me to coward away form simple situations but conquer the situations I hardheartedly feared. My anxiety rapidly got worse throughout my years at high school due to bullying, pressure and self doubt. I have always kept my story private because I felt like it made me weak, vulnerable and that it opened the doors for people to take advantage of me. When in reality, I have gained so much support from my friends and they have been able to make me feel like I am able to get through situations I never thought I could.

My anxiety escalates exponentially in a very little amount of time. It causes me to become extremely light headed, my legs and arms become numb, my heart starts to pound, my stomach turns into a bottomless pit making me feel empty and hopeless inside and everything around me looks like it is spinning. It is impossible for me to mentally register anything that is happening around me because the world feels as though it is collapsing under my feet. There are many things that trigger my anxiety. Some of these things include paying/ordering something when being served at a till, answering a phone call, walking behind or in front of someone in the street, groups of people, large rooms and much more.

No matter what you are dealing with and even though you may not believe it, someone is always standing with open arms ready to listen to everything you need to get off your chest. If anyone ever needs someone to talk to, no matter what it is about I will always be here to listen to you. NEVER feel ashamed of what you feel and most definitely do not hide it. You will not be judged by me or anyone in my community for what you are dealing with. Anything you say will kept between us or the person you are speaking to if it is not me.

I love you and you are worth everything good that comes your way. You are strong, powerful and you are more than just a person with a mental health issue.
