Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In November 2011, aged 49, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Major "Whipples Procedure" surgery was needed and in July 2012 I finished my 6 month session of Chemotherapy.
My faith, my fitness and the fabulous skills of an amazing surgeon (Mr Tommy Diamond) & his team have guided me through this and on 21st April 2013 I aim to run a sub 4 hours London Marathon.
I'm asking for your generous support to encourage me in that quest and to make every mile of my run one which will make a measurable difference to the work of Cancer Focus' Family Support Service.
I lost my Dad to cancer when I was only 7, so as a consequence of both that experience and my own more recent one, I can relate only too well to the trauma caused to children when cancer enters a home. The Family Support Service is available to help those families. This assistance can be invaluable to simply help families cope with what has befallen them.
So please dig deep and donate now.
