Ivor died peacefully in the EllenorLions Hospice on the 10th of October.  If you are visiting his page it may be because you wish to make a donation in his memory. We have chosen the Hospice as the beneficiary as it was not until Ivor was there that we realised it costs £6.2million a year to run the Hospice and only 27% of that is provided by the Government - raising the rest is dependent on the kindness of people like yourself and the hard work of a team of volunteers. Ivor benefitted so much in his final weeks from the generous donations of others, he was comfortable, well cared for, pain free and safe.  We felt it right that we should aim to repay that generosity. So we ask you to make your donation in order that others who are reaching the end of their lives can have the same excellent care that Ivor received and for which 'thank you' will never quite be enough - Thank you.

 

Funeral arrangements:

 

The service is on Tuesday the 29th of October at 1.30pm at St Margaret of Antioch, (DA2 7QY).  Parking at the church is difficult and you may want to park a little down the road and walk.

 

The service will be followed by a short committal at 3.30pm at Eltham crematorium, (SE9 2AZ).

 

Following the committal there will be tea at the Great Hall in Hall Place, (DA5 1PQ).  If you do not wish to attend the committal just tea and coffee will be served from 3pm.  We should arrive there at 4.10pm.  For those of you who do not know, Hall Place has lovely gardens and much to see, so is worth a visit anyway.  Tea will be from 4-6pm and for who wish to have a drink in Ivor's memory, the bar at the rugby club will be open from 6pm, it is a five minute stroll away from Hall Place or half a minute by car.

 

We thank you for your kind words and thoughts which have sustained us in the last week, it is even clearer to us now how much Ivor was loved.  We look forward to seeing as many of you who can attend on the 29th.
