Story
Hey Guys,
As many of you will know I am starting a Internship with Sowing Seeds Ministries. Sowing Seeds aims to "help young people steer away from a lifestyle of crime and antisocial behaviour and helps ex offenders break free from the cycle of crime and reoffending. Sowing Seeds also hopes to encourage people from all walks of life to be positive influences and role models in their local community and further afield." Our work involves going into Prisons all across the UK, working in schools and local communities particularly in Teeside.
Throughout 2011 - 2012, I am hoping to take part in loads of different fundraising events to raise money for Sowing Seeds Ministries. If you have any ideas of events or challenges I could try please let me know and I will do my best to attempt as many as possible to help support this amazing work. Over the year, through different events, I would love to raise in the region of about £1000 for the Charity.
If you are sitting their now thinking why do prisoners deserve assistance from people supported by my money, quite honestly you may be right in thinking that they deserve nothing. However as a Charity we believe that Grace and Compassion are the key to helping prisoners change their ways. Many have been totally failed and written off by society and really need Sowing Seeds Ministries to pick them up and help and support them on their journey to creating a better life for themselves upon their release. It is a key aim of the Charity to support prisoners upon release to try to prevent the vicious cycle of reoffending.

Matthew 25:35-40 (NIV)
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
