The Prince’s Trust Palace to Palace 2015 · 13 September 2015 ·

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

90 miles.. What have I signed myself up for? Last year I took part in this ride at 45 miles so I decided to step it up a notch this year. Appreciate all donations and prayers!

I am taking part in Palace to Palace London supported by Saudi Aramco, on 13th September 2015. I'll be cycling from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle, all in aid of The Prince's Trust. Through the sponsorship I raise I know that I will be helping The Prince’s Trust support disadvantaged young people in the UK.

The Prince's Trust supports 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. Many of the young people helped by The Trust are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or they have been in trouble with the law.

The Trust’s programmes give vulnerable young people the practical and financial support needed to stabilise their lives, helping develop self-esteem and skills for work.

I have been fortunate to see this program work first hand in my first week at work here at Avanade last year. We had a young man who we had mentored and soon after the mentorship he got a position with Amazon.  He was overjoyed with enthusiasm with his new career and it was so exciting to see my Avanade co-workers excited as well, knowing that they had made a difference in this young man's life.
