Story
For years and years I’ve been searching for the right challenge to undertake to raise money for a charity that is so close to my heart.
This page is in memory of my wonderful mum Sarah Thompson. The most strong - willed, bravest, hard working person, but above all, the most beautiful and supportive mother you could wish for.
My mum lost her battle to Cancer on the 29th June 2013, aged 47, at St Lukes Hospice. She touched so many peoples lives and her diagnosis affected so many of us. She first discovered she had breast cancer in August 2009 and as the fighter she was, endured countless chemotherapy, radiotherapy and herceptin treatments. Even though these treatments had such terrible side effects she still continued to be the best mother to my sister and I, and a wife to my Dad, Gary.
Her passing has left a huge void in so many peoples lives and I want to raise as much money as possible to help continue to fight against Cancer. My mum loved walking and that enjoyment has been passed down to me. So myself and my friend Alarna thought that completing the Three Peak Challenge in 24 hours would be the perfect mental and physical challenge to help raise money for such a good cause. I know she’ll be there with us in spirit and cheering us on along the way.
Please donate to Cancer Research in memory of my Mum and so many others that have been affected by this disease. Let’s continue to find a cure and raise awareness.
