In memory of my darling husband Steve, my one true love.
Steve and I spent 5 weeks in St John’s Hospice between May/June this year. Such a wonderful place filled with wonderful people dedicated to showing love care and respect to their patients but equally to loved ones. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
We were very privileged to be able to use a Cuddle Bed during part of our stay. This was so special to both of us, as it meant we could be close together when every moment of each day was so precious. It was much better than Steve lying on his own. On Steve’s passing I was able to lie by his side and to hold him close.
Steve loved walking the Lakeland fells, windsurfing and kayaking on the Lakes, so my family and I will be doing a 13 mile hike on part of the Ullswater Way. Starting at Glenridding - Patterdale - shore walk to Howtown then on up to Askham Common, stopping off at Steve’s resting place along the way to say hello.
Please support the appeal. This would help others to have the same opportunity and hopefully make their precious days together with close comfort and cuddles.
