Story
40 is creeping up on me and I want to celebrate the fact that I feel great.... I am blessed to be healthy, fit(ish) and have the support of amazing family and friends.
I last ran 10 years ago a 10km race in Sheffield so this has been a real challenge but choosing a charity to run for was very simple. Stroke Association
My amazing Grandma Betty, at 81 years young she thought nothing of flying to New York for a week to watch me get married and explore our favourite city. She was full of charm, wit and love, adored by everyone. 8 weeks after our wedding she suffered a life changing stroke and then spent a further 6 months suffering before finally passing away.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But sometimes the brain can adapt. Stroke Association’s specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support they can rebuild even more lives.
I’m not asking for grand gestures, just what you can spare 💜💙❤️
