So the reason I'm taking part in this trek up Kilimanjaro ....... My mate Mandy!!!

Mandy spent some time at The Marie Curie hospice in Woolton, Liverpool, a place she was reluctant to go to yet a place that in the end proved to be a true sanctuary for her. It costs over 14k a day to run the hospice with less than 50% coming from the NHS, the rest being dependent on fundraising so PLEASE PLEASE dig deep and help me thank them for looking after my mate and help them continue to offer their much needed support to others. 

Anyone who knows me or were lucky enough to have known her will understand what she meant to me and this is my way of doing something that I hope would make her proud whilst raising money for an amazing cause.

I was blessed to have had her as my best friend for 35 years but sadly after 7yrs of living with cancer, my amazingly courageous and beautiful friend lost her life to this cruel disease. It is the courage and bravery that she showed from the beginning to the very end of her illness that has inspired me to take on this challenge and I know my bezzy will be right there with me, pushing me on as the going gets tough.
