We will do whatever it takes to help you live life as fully as you can

Story

I’ll keep this simple – cancer affects us all.

You avoid thinking about it in the hopes that it won’t, but one
way or another, it does and will.

Be it a beloved family member, close friend, or cherished
colleague; we will all need support to beat cancer in some way, shape or form.

In December of last year, our family found out that my Father had
a form of advanced colon cancer, and so began his intensive treatment with an aggressive course of chemotherapy to beat it.

Throughout his treatment journey so far, Macmillan nurses have, and
will continue to play, a fundamental role in providing Dad – and millions of others across the UK with physical and emotional support. But as you know, they rely completely on donations from the public.

With this in mind, I’ve decided to raise money for Macmillan by
racing in my toughest challenge yet!

I’m racing in the Iron Man 70.3 Staffordshire on June 12th
to raise money for Macmillan Cancer. For those of you unfamiliar with the race - it’s a gruelling 1.2 mile swim followed by a 90km bike ride and a half marathon to take any remaining energy I still have!

There’ll be tears, embarrassing tan lines, and a lot of me limping
around the office as I train up for this event. But it’ll all be worth it, as
it’s for an absolutely brilliant cause.

Please donate anything you can, and I’ll continue to provide
updates as I go on both training and Dad. Needless to say, I have bake sales planned, but am open to any other ideas which will help meet our (ambitious) target of £1,200 for Macmillan!

James

Thank you for choosing to support me and Macmillan Cancer Support. Just so you know, 30% of the sponsorship that I collect (up to the cost of my entry fee) will be reimbursed. This means that Macmillan receives 70% or more of my sponsorship.

Reimbursing 30% of my sponsorship (up to the cost of my entry fee) is a safe way of fundraising for the charity as it can be cheaper than the cost of a charity package! If you have any questions about my fundraising or why your donations may be used in this way, please don't hesitate to contact Macmillan directly at triathlon@macmillan.org.uk.
