Story
Hi, thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On the 1st November 2009 I am running the New York marathon for the second consecutive year. I am one athlete in the hugely illustrious and invite-only ‘Team Women Of The Year’. I was first introduced to this charity through my former colleague, the ‘inspirational’ Gill Carrick (Team Captain)! In addition to her ‘day job’, Gill is the current Chair of the Women of the Year, an organisation that held its first event over 50 years ago. The foundation’s aim is to relieve the needs of deserving women by offering financial and practical support. It is funded by donations and profits from the annual Women of the Year Lunch. Examples of some of the success stories can be found at http://www.womenoftheyear.co.uk/foundation.htm. Larry Haywood makes up the last third of the team. Having barely run a mile this time last year, he was inspired by team ‘08s efforts and foolishly agreed to take part this year. As for me, I still haven't managed to crack the 3.30 barrier (despite a lot of pain and effort) - your sponsorship will hopefully help provide the impetus to get me over the line that little bit quicker! Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. So please dig deep and donate now.
