Story

In December 2020, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Skin Cancer. After having a mole on my left calf for a few years, I started to notice changes in it - getting larger, changes to its shape and it would bleed after showering.

To my surprise (especially given I am ginger), this form of skin cancer was not due to sun damage, but was due to a mole that went bad. If you are reading this and have any moles that you are unsure about, I would really recommend getting in touch with your GP and getting them checked out. It's easy to ignore these things, especially with COVID and not wanting to add strain to the NHS at the moment, but these sorts of things can progress quickly if not caught in time.

I was fortunate enough for this to be caught early and the treatment I received fully removed the melanoma. I am very grateful for the support I received from the healthcare professionals involved in my treatment and would love to be able to give something back by raising money for an incredible charity like Macmillan.

Rohan and I are taking part in the Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge on the 28th June 2021 to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan are a charity who provide specialist healthcare, information and financial support to those who are living with Cancer in the UK.

The challenge is to play four rounds (72 holes) of golf in one day at Pollok Golf Club, Glasgow. This golf 'marathon' will take us somewhere between 12 and 16 hours to complete and we will walk an estimated 24 miles over the course of the day.

We would be very appreciative of any donations that would help a great charity like Macmillan.

Thanks,

Jack & Rohan
