So I stayed with a family in Derby for a university placement and the parents both worked for Upbeat Communities. They help newly arrived refugees settle in the Midlands area and acclimatize to living here. 

I was lucky enough to come along to a few English classes run by Upbeat and, in the context of Brexit, it made me feel more like a human being again. I would love to raise some money for these guys and the good work they do.

There is one refugee in particular I would like to raise money for. He has been fighting in the courts to stop the home office from deporting him and it has been a long, exhausting and unrewarding effort up til now. I'd really like him to see that people care about people like him.
