Since April 2022 my grandad has been ill, it started with an ear infection but it was quickly becoming a lot more. 

It took until December 2022 for him to finally get a proper diagnosis of a severe fungal infection on his spine. By the time it was found it had already eaten at his spine and muscle and was now strangling his spinal cord. It took an 8 hour operation and ‘medical grade scaffolding’ to prevent him from being paralysed from the neck down and is likely that without the help from the team at UCLH he wouldn’t be here anymore. 

Which is why me and my aunty Lynsey have decided to run the Royal parks half marathon in jus under 5 moths🤯

Unfortunately on the 11th of August my grandads heart gave up on him and he lost his year long battle, just 6 weeks after coming home from rehab
