Story
I am running the 2022 London Marathon to raise money for Macmillan, helping those fighting cancer and supporting their families.
Those who know me will know that I came to running quite late, but I’ve thrown myself into it over the past few years. After steadily increasing the miles and completing a few half-marathons, I’ve decided to take the plunge and do the full thing in October.
I will be running in memory of friends and family who have fought cancer and survived, or sadly lost their brave battle. Unfortunately, it’s an experience that far too many people can relate to.
One in three people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives. 300,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year, 157,000 people die from cancer every year. Macmillan Cancer Support reach and work with more than one in two people living with cancer, providing support for them and their families.
If you can, please do sponsor me and support the incredible work that Macmillan do. Any and all donations – large or small – gratefully received. Thank you!
Jack
