Julie’s Bicycle is a London based charity that supports the creative community to act on climate change and environmental sustainability. Founded in 2007 by the UK music industry, JB has established itself as an internationally trusted expert and advocate.

Story

Hello!

Against my better judgment, I have volunteered to cycle from London to Brighton with a ragtag bunch of colleagues and 30 other poor souls from across the music industry.

The challenge?

54 miles via bike from London to Brighton featuring the infamous Ditchling Beacon hill climb; striking fear into even seasoned cycling pro's.

After spending my annual salary at Wandsworth Decathlon, you can rest assured I am fully kitted out. And yeah, the extra tight lycra isn't so flattering but Rome wasn't built in a day, was it? Neither my flat stomach.

I need YOU!

We all know the danger that lies ahead if we fail to take action on environmental issues, to make this ride worthwhile I am raising money for Julie's Bicycle and I need your help!

Julie's Bicycle help to empower Musicians, Artists, Venues, Festivals,
Labels and Manufacturers to make sustainable and environmentally
friendly choices to lessen their impact on the planet.

Now, I know some of you will need emotionally blackmailing to support a green charity so here are some truly terrifying facts to make you feel inclined.

  • Sea levels are rising at their fastest rate in 2000 years.
  • Two-thirds of the Great Barrier Reef has been damaged as a result of climate change.
  • More greenhouse gases are in our atmosphere than at any time in human history.
  • There Will be More Plastic in the Oceans Than Fish by 2050 if we don't take action on plastics now.
  • More than 1 million species face extinction because of climate change.

Your money will go towards Julie's Bicycles Green Rider initiative; a campaign that will help touring artists work alongside venues, festivals, labels and promoters to become more sustainable.
