We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

On the 15th of September, myself and my two older brothers will be tackling and completing a 36 mile Island walk on behalf of Richard Rondel (our farther) and the money raised will be split equally between The Jersey Freinds of Oncology and Cancer Research UK which will be on a separate donation page and hopefully reaching a total of £3,000.

After being diagnosed in Spain over 3 and a half years ago with Stage 4 bowel Cancer, the hospitals didn’t think he would be here for long at all. After a severe operation he flew back to Jersey to be with his children, a couple of days after the tuma perforated and he was back in intensive care, this is where we had to say goodbye...

But he never gave up, he’s a strong Jersey bean! And here he is now still battling on, however the battle is decreasing rapidly and the treatment he can have is now very limited.

After experiencing some horrendous side effects such as, ulcers, a rash, pins and needles, vomiting, tiredness and loss of appetite, he never gave up as he knew there was so much to do. We have been blessed to have been on great holidays and spent some great memories together as a family.

This walk is for others struggling and experiencing Cancer and for there family’s.

I want to do this for my dad.

Many thanks for all the support and help and we look forward to seeing you all on the day!

Kind Wishes,

Jack Lewis Rondel.
