Our baby Jack was born sleeping on 14th June at Dewsbury hospital at 29+5 weeks, due to me having preeclampsia. The first I knew about it was 10 days previous when I had gone to my regular midwife appointment at 28 week to find I had high blood pressure and protein in my urine and got admitted straight to hospital. There we had a scan and were told the devastating news that he was only measuring 22weeks and wasn't getting enough blood from me to grow properly. We were told there and then that he wouldn't make it, and they thought it would only be a matter of hours before his heart stopped beating. I was kept in hospital and he fought on for another week but on the following Tuesday when they listened in to his heartbeat it had gone. I gave birth to him 3 days later.

 

4Louis is a charity that provides memory boxes for parents in the same situation. Inside the boxes are various things including photos of our baby, his footprints, his hospital wrist band, 2 teddies (one which went with baby Jack and one that stayed with us), a glass angel, and a candle. I was told about their memory boxes the day before Jack was born and asked if we would like one. I thought they were such a good idea, and was so glad that they were offered to us from the hospital, otherwise we would have not had anything to remember our beautiful baby boy. We decided on recieving the memory box that we would like to raise money for this charity as I'm sure it must bring comfort to many other mums and dads in the same situation, as it did to us.
