On October 2nd 2022 I will be running the London Marathon for Breast Cancer Now in memory of my late Aunt Liz. 

Breast Cancer Now is a charity with a strong personal connection as they supported both my Aunt Liz and Anna in their fight against breast cancer. LIz was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997 at the age of 39 and sadly lost her battle with breast cancer on 22nd May 1998. As an identical twin, Anna was more likely to get the disease and was diagnosed in 2016. Fortunately, the disease was caught at an early stage and with support from the NHS and Breast Cancer Now Anna was cleared of the disease in 2017. 

I was due to run the marathon in April 2020, which was postponed due to the Covid pandemic. On the day of the marathon, I ran around the Arsenal football stadium 26 times to mark the day of the event. To mark the 22nd anniversary of Liz's death I ran a marathon on 23rd May 2020 but only allowed myself to run 1 mile every hour to create a more mentally challenging but engaging event. Documenting the event through social media helped me to raise my fundraising target and was one of my toughest challenges to date. My incredible 91-year-old grandmother joined for the last mile walking around her house 26 times.

After two and a half year wait, I am incredibly excited to put on the Breast Cancer Now vest and run in memory of my Aunt Liz. Thank you in advance for your generous donations and I hope you can come to support on the day!!
