At the start of last year I said I wouldn't be running a marathon any time in the near future, fast forward a few months and after running my longest run to date in the Round Norfolk Relay of 18 miles, I had a change of heart. After failing to get in to the London Marathon through the ballot, having tried every year since I have been old enough, I decided to enter Manchester Marathon. Fast forward a couple of months & I was lucky enough to gain one of two ballot places in my running club, (Coltishall Jaguars), for the London Marathon. So now it seems I shall be running two marathons ... in three weeks!! 

I am not running either of these Marathons through a charity place however, I have decided this would be an ideal opportunity for me to not only test myself, but to also raise some money for a charity very close to my heart. 

Some of you may be aware that my Mum battled with breast cancer for years and sadly passed away on my birthday in 2007 aged just 52. Then more recently, my Dad was diagnosed with cancer and passed away last year aged 66. I have always known that I wanted to raise money to help this charity and it now seems like I have the ideal opportunity. I know that the thought of them both will get me through the marathons, my Dad was my biggest supporter with running so completing them will mean not only the world to me but it would have meant the world to him too.
