Midnight Walk 2013 · 29 June 2013 ·

The Hospice helps people to live their precious lives well. Our care has many forms – at home, in our outpatient Spring Centre or through specialised care in one of our Hospice beds - and is defined by each person's need. We rely on donations to raise the £6m we need each year to fund our free care.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Gemma Teakle, Jasmine Caines, Elisha Caines, Nicky Bunyan, Tracey Anastasiou, Lisa Sanders taking part in the walk in memory of such an amazing lady. Jackie was a wonderful Mum, Nan, Daughter, Sister, Auntie & Friend.

She was diagnosed with Cancer 2010 and beat it, however she suffered a stroke August 2010 and was fighting with the effects of that. In November 2012 the Cancer returned and this time it was to much for her to beat.

The last few weeks of her life she was being cared for at The Hospice Of St Francis. The doctors, nurses, carers, social/support workers, volunteers & everyone else that is involved in this place were exceptionally wonderful people.

My mum loved it here she would say this on every visit. They gave her the care & support she needed & more. She was made comfortable as she could be and never felt worried to ask them for any help as nothing was to much.

For those that don't know, only 20% of their funding is given by the NHS, 80% is money raised by donations. So please donate as much as you can, no amount is to small.
