Most of you will know as a family we have had to face our own personal challenge in the last eighteen months with my brave daughter Siân contracting a serious blood disorder. The strength, courage & resilience she displayed was hugely helped by the support of charitable organisations like MacMillan Cancer Support who offered a variety of extremely helpful emotional/practical supports. As a family we are eternally grateful & as such Suzie & I wish to repay this kindness in part by participating in the Team McKeown Rob Roy Way for MacMillan Cancer Support 22nd - 25th May.
Each weekend since November we have taken part in training walks, starting at shorter distances & have now built up to walking 25 miles+. We have met the nicest group of like minded people all wanting to contribute to this fabulous fund raising venture. We are especially blessed by the expert guidance, hill walking skills & relentless encouragement from our beloved cousin Stuart McGregor. Any contribution to our fundraising efforts would be immensely appreciated by both of us but especially by Siân who at some point in the future would love to undertake one of these challenges. We know the difficulties & adversity we will face on the walk won’t even come close to what our girl had to endure. Every charity has taken a significant blow during the pandemic, making all fund raising efforts essential at this time. So we’re getting our ‘big girl’ pants on & taking every step for Sianny Pops & others like her facing life threatening health issues.
Any support you can offer will be truly appreciated, thank you so so much!
