Hello and thank you for reading! In October I'll be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for Refuge, if you aren't familiar with Refuge or the work they do, this is a quick summary from them (as factually I can't put it any better):

"One in four women will experience domestic abuse at some point in their lifetime and on average one woman is killed every 5 days in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Refuge is the largest single provider of specialist services to survivors of domestic, sexual and gender-based abuse and runs the freephone, 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline that provides the first step to women escaping abuse. "

On a personal note, this cause is very important to me, more than I can fit in these few paragraphs. And although running (probably quite slowly) will not solve the problem, raising any money for a charity that does such amazing work is always worth it.
