Morocco High Atlas Trek 2023 - Amnesty UK · 22 June 2023 to 29 June 2023 ·

A team of students from University College London are raising money for Amnesty International UK and climbing Morocco's High Atlas Mountains in 2023.

Story

As someone who loves to travel and explore new cultures, I've had the privilege of experiencing firsthand the power of human connection and the beauty of diversity. From surfing with locals in Morocco to helping a village build a hut in Mongolia, I've witnessed how people from different backgrounds can come together to make a positive impact.

Unfortunately, I've also seen the devastating effects of human rights abuses and inequalities in many of the places that I've visited. That's why I'm passionate about supporting Amnesty UK and their mission to fight for human rights around the world. Amnesty is tackling a range of important issues, including the impact of the Invasion of Ukraine and Palestine on civilians, the right to free speech and protest, abortion rights, and LGBTQ equality.

This summer, our main challenge will be hiking the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, which is the highest mountain in North Africa (13,671 ft). In addition, from March 6th-12th, I'll be taking on an endurance challenge where I'll either run 12km or do 200 push-ups every day for 7 days. I'll also be collecting donations at multiple points throughout London.

My goal is to raise £1,490 for this important cause. Any support you can provide would be amazing and greatly appreciated. Please consider donating to my fundraising page or sharing this post to help spread the word. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your support!
