Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In September 2012 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. A surprise yes, but not a shock as most of you will know that two of my three sisters had prevously been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Elizabeth was diagnosed in 1993 at the age of 32, sadly she died in 2008 at the age of just 47 after a long battle with the disease.
Caroline was diagnosed in 2007 and now five years on she thankfully remains clear from any reoccurances.
Elizabeth started the Breakthrough Breast Cancer £1000 Challenge which allows your name to be added to the Challengers Wall once £1000 has been raised. Now there is nearly £3000 in the pot - if we raise the last £270 all three of our names will appear on the same wall.
In the words of Breakthrough - The Challengers' Wall recognises the strength and bravery of those who have suffered from breast cancer and the enormous contribution of all our Challengers. Every name represents hope, every name is an inspiration. Every name ensures that one day we will live without the fear of breast cancer.
I am doing well and being very positive through my treatment. I had surgery in October and then chemotherapy started at the end of November. I have now had 3 cycles of the six I need - so half way through.
