Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 11th January 2018 my friend's son, Jacob, took his own life. He was just 16 years old. He didn't have a history of mental illness, he showed no signs of depression, he wore a smile every day. Jacob was being bullied and was so good at keeping it to himself, his family had no clue of what he was struggling with inside.
His devastated family now have to find a way to carry on through life without him. Something they never imagined they would need to do.
On 1st September, nine days before World Suicide Awareness Day, I will be walking Peddars Way in 24 hours. The Peddars Way is an ancient footpath in Norfolk. It is approx. 46 miles (74 km) long and follows the route of a Roman road. I will begin my journey at 4am on Knettishall Heath and will be walking the full 46 miles North to the Norfolk Coastal town of Holme-next-the-sea. I am not a seasoned hiker, barely managing 15 miles a week with my lab, Baker, so this will certainly be a challenge!
Any donations, however small, will be gratefully received. Thank you.
