Jacob, Jake, Jakey has been visiting Lourdes for 50 years without fail and many of these trips were at Easter working alongside and with the HCPT and the growing number of groups from the U.K.  Another visit was planned for 2020 but unfortunately the COVID pandemic arrived postponing plans. 

Over the years he developed a love for Lourdes and he fully committed himself to visit every year to serve with humility, patience and love. Dads character shone through the most whilst in Lourdes and he was simply in his element - working, praying and playing hard. He especially loved entertaining the children with his magic tricks, making them feel comfortable and happy away from home.....and there was always a rendition (or two) of his party piece “Fidler On The Roof” in the evenings for the adults! “If I were a rich man......”.

Sadly he will be missed by so many of his Lourdes friends and also those at home, but the stories and kind words received these past few days although often upsetting, are beautiful. They are a testament to the man he was and I’m sure all our lives are that little bit better for having dad in it!
