Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This was the plan in 2020..........
This is a Team effort...between us we are going to try and complete 80 events in my dads 80th birthday year, raising money for the West Bromwich Albion Foundation.
The Team...Jacqueline Hobson, Philip Hobson, Ian Hobson, Reiss Hobson, Nathan Hobson, Thomas Bickerton, Edward Bickerton, Klaudia Fusiek, Kornelia Fusiek, Ryan Parry, Sean Henderson, Gabriel Hobson, Charlotte Hall
Why WBA?... well its my dad's team, he finally got a season ticket when he retired and bought my mum one when she retired, just when she thought she could put her feet up while my dad was at the Albion!...We grew up in a house dominated by football watching, playing, refereeing or coaching...for most of us WBA is our team too....however there are the odd ones on the dark side but we won't mention them...
THEN COVID HIT AND PLANS CHANGED......my Dad's Birthday was cancelled in 2020 and in losing family and friends to the virus we also lost my Dad's younger brother to Cancer, diagnosed as we went into the first lockdown....IN 2022 it's me on my own joining the Albion Foundation Team because our family has had a rough ride. The foundation is supporting children and families through sport, THEY NEED THIS MORE THAN EVER......Thank you for taking the time to read this, if you can give a little please do, but please more than anything look at what the foundation does and spread the word xxx
Why The Albion Foundation?... better in their words, this is what they do....
'The Albion Foundation uses the power of football to make a difference, raise aspirations, grow their people and participants and connect West Bromwich Albion Football Club to its communities.'
'The Albion Foundation aims to inspire young people to love sport through play and provide opportunities to teach and develop all abilities.
Almost 1,000 boys participate in The Foundation's Player Development Centres and over 50 received a trial with West Bromwich Albion.
More than 500 girls are in the grassroots programme with over 90 players representing Albion.
It's not just football the charity inspires people to enjoy.
Close to 400 basketballers are part of its grassroots programme, with 70 of those representing Albion.
The blind team won the league and cup double in 2016, with the powerchair team finishing second in the European Champions League and eight players representing their country in disability sport.
With 40 teams, The Albion Foundation provides a groundbreaking pathway to excellence where inclusivity, diversity and excellence combine to make something special.'
