Walk with the Weatherman · 30 November 2014

Velindre Cancer Services provides treatment, care and support to patients and their families. Money raised by our fundraisers allows us to support projects over and above those provided by the NHS including ground breaking research, specialist equipment, nurses and staff training.

Story

On Sunday the 30th November, come rain or shine I will be joining Derek the weatherman on an 8 mile walk from Barry to Rhoose point. This is to raise funds for Velindre Cancer Care centre. Velindre is very close to my heart.

Both my Mam and Nan received treatment for cancer here and although they lost their battle, the treatment and care they received in velindre was second to none. The staff are hard working and dedicated and treat every patient and relative with care respect and dignity. They not only treat people here, but do vital research into cures and treatments for different types of cancer.

I miss my mam so very much, she was a fantastic lady with a fighting spirit, as was my nan. Both fought until the end. I don't usually like asking for money but on this occasion even if you can only give a pound it will make a difference. It will help towards research, treatment, nurses and care of patients and their families going through one of the toughest times of their lives.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks for giving.
