Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Due to the recent loss that John and I have endured, I am about to embark on the EPT 1000 challenge. The challenge is either to run, walk, cycle or a mixture of all covering a distance of either 1000 miles or a 1000 km within the space of 12 months. I am starting mine 1st August 2019.

We had tried for our pregnancy for 3 years and me having 5 miscarriages. We got that big fat positive test we had been waiting for, and couldn't be happier. But that was short lived, 2nd July 2019 seen a day that would shake our world's forever. John raced to the hospital after waking up bleeding fearing it was another miscarriage, only to discover baby Rose had a heartbeat, but wasn't where she was ment to be. The words Ectopic pregnancy was thrown out and I feel apart. My whole next 3 days where the worst, no support from the hospital, no advice on where to look for support, the NHS failed me. No compassion given, told our baby would have to die, so I would live, is one of the most horrific things I have been told. A decision I should not of had to make. A decision taken away from me. The hardest part is knowing our little rose had a good heart beat, but that baby wouldn't make it, and neither would I if I didn't have the drug they wanted me to have. No support, no answers and almost dying, John and I have nothing to show for our long awaited big fat positive.

Suffering an ectopic pregnancy is one of the hardest life changing experiences I have ever had to go through, I can't begin to imagine what my husband is going through as he is trying to support me.

So I went in search on Facebook of a page that could possibly offer some insight into what to expect and possibly offer support. And I found it, from the minute I typed my message, I had women offering me support and love, some of these ladies where going through an ectopic pregnancy at that moment like me, but offered supportive comments and advice. So I decided even though currently still going through this awful loss, I wanted to show my support for a charity that is supporting me. I am 1 in 80, I am 1 in 4, and I am one of thousands who haven't been supported threw this awful time by health professionals. If I can stop one woman going through what I did, then my work is done.

Every penny counts and this effects more women than you know. The money goes towards leaflets, education for midwifes on how to support women who suffer ectopic pregnancy. It could also help make up packs so that a husband, partner, wife, doesn't have to leave their loved one and go pack a bag. It would mean that couple staying together threw those darkest hours.

So I am going to start of on the 1000 KM challenge and if I feel I have enough time once I reach the 1000 KM I will extend it to a 1000 miles. I will keep my Facebook page up to date with what I have done and how many miles or KM I have done.
