Story
On Wednesday 8th August my husband Greg Hanson suffered a cardiac arrest whilst riding his motocross bike at Washbrooke Farm MX. Without immediate CPR and the on site defibulator we are certain he would not be here today. He was quickly flown to Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge for an emergency procedure. After 11 days in intensive care and a rollercoaster of medical problems, the doctors are calling him a miracle. Greg has fought the biggest fight of his life and will continue to fight untill he is fully fit again. We now know Greg's heart is 100% functioning due to the fantastic work of those performing CPR. For that alone we are forever grateful. It is still a long road ahead with lots of rehab but he is on the right track.
We take for granted some of the resorces we are fortunate to have available to us. The Air Ambulance are one of those resources and is not government funded, therefore rely solely on donations to keep them going. we can't predict the future especially in motocross, but if ever we needed them it would be nice to know they are there. It is for this reason we would really appreciate if everyone could dig deep to help them save another life.
