London Landmarks Half Marathon 2018 · 25 March 2018 ·
Whilst walking our dogs and chatting about random everyday things, Teresa and I in a moment of uncharacteristic selflessness, reflected on how fortunate we are to have the basic things in life. The result of this was that we felt we could do something to support others less fortunate than ourselves. We decided that if we were going to ask others for fundraising, we needed to do something that we did not particularly enjoy and would take us out of our comfort zone. Flat-footed, lead legs and unfit to name but a few of our issues, meant a running event was the inevitable and painful choice! In a moment of madness, we have signed up to run 'The Big Half' (half marathon based in London).
The motivation for dragging ourselves round 13.1 miles is to raise money for 'Centrepoint'. This charity supports homeless young people, aged 16-25, for up to two years, but continues supporting them for another six months to make sure they can live independently. 'Centrepoint' provides accommodation, health support and life skills to get these young adults back into education, training and employment.
It is easy to support a charity close to your heart but sometimes it is important to help complete strangers. That's why we are asking you to help us to support the work 'Centrepoint' does.
