It's been a few years (and I must be mad) but I'm going to run the London Marathon again!!!

After a recent visit to the Maasai Mara in South East Kenya, I was deeply touched by how little these people have, especially the children. Schooling is compulsory over there, but as the parents have little, or no money, it is very difficult for these children to be given a decent start in life.

It was obvious that the children want to learn - many can often walk for hours on end just to get there. But once there, as the schools are so poor, there is no equipment to learn with. However, this school is different. It has been supported over the last few years by The Mara Rianda Charitable Trust. These children are now fortunate to have pens and paper, even running water and a fence to keep the animals out.

However, funding is still needed.  Although they have running water, a filter is now required in order to reduce the level of fluoride. Older children are now being given busaries which enables them to go on to study further. It costs only £1100 to board these children, feed, clothe and teach them for 4 years! And at the moment, the teacher at the school is only paid for until next year.

Therefore please help me to help these children! It really will continue to improve their way of life. Every penny you donate will go the Trust as no expenses are deducted for trustee salaries or administration. Even visits to the school come out of the trustees own pockets!
