Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide exists to meet the needs and break the isolation of those impacted by a suicide loss. We provide a safe and confidential environment in which bereaved people can share their experiences and feelings, so that no one bereaved by suicide has to face their loss alone.

IMPORTANT UPDATE !!

Unfortunately Pure Challenge, who we booked the 45K South Snowdonia Trail with, has ceased trading after going into administration. The guided Snowdonia walk has been cancelled and we are still trying to get our entry fees back.

SOBS is massively important to us so we still want to promote the valuable work they do and raise funds where possible. We are hugely grateful for the donations we have received so far and after driving ourselves crazy over the last 24 hours, we now have a BRAND NEW challenge... 👣😊

We will now be completing 3 strenuous walks covering a total of 100KM -

Saturday 9th June 2018: Ullswater Way. Strenuous 20 mile walk. (With the Lancashire Walking Group)

Saturday 30th June 2018: Three towers walk. Rivington Pike, Darwin Tower & Peel Tower. Long hard walk over 30 miles. (With the Lancashire Walking Group)

Saturday 4th August 2018: Llanberis to Snowdon Summit. 10 miles / Ascent 3300ft. (Self guided).

On top of this, my Dad is also competing in the Manchester 100 mile cycle on Sunday 2nd September 2018 and I'll be there cheering him on! 👍🏻😉

All donations will go directly to SOBS charity 💜

On the 19th July 2017 my beautiful, loving Mum sadly took her own life and as you can only try to imagine, this is the worst thing which has ever happened to me and my Dad. It has changed our lives forever. Within a split second we found ourselves in the confusing dark world of grief and we have been left with a wide range of emotions, alongside many unanswered questions. Whilst there is a very sad story behind this, my Mum had no history of mental illness and she showed no signs of depression in the days, weeks and months leading up to her passing. She had nail appointments booked, a holiday to Croatia coming up and she was even planning a boat trip to Venice the night before she died. We are proof that suicide can happen to any family, at any time.

Despite this being the worst experience of our lives, me and my Dad have found a vital lifeline in the charity SOBS (Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide). Unfortunately many people are unaware of SOBS and the fantastic work they do until they lose a loved one to suicide. Both myself and my Dad currently attend 3 meetings per month at various locations across the North West and the support we receive from all of the facilitators and other survivors is invaluable. Luckily we have a group nearby but there isn't a group in every town and many people across the country have to travel a fair distance to receive support at such a tragic and difficult time. We hope that fundraising will be a step towards increasing the number of groups.

Now, most people know my Dad is practically an Olympic champion when it comes to sport and fitness, and he is also a member of cycling and walking groups. As for me, I can't even remember the last time I walked to the shop!! This is now set to change as we have both signed up for the challenging task of the South Snowdonia trail where we will be taking on 45 kilometres (27.9 longgggg miles!) of South Snowdonia's stunning mountain ranges in just one day.

My Mum also loved a challenge and keeping fit so we will be doing this in her memory, alongside raising money for SOBS so they can continue to support ourselves and others through the awful journey which suicide places you on.

Forever in our hearts ♥️
