Story
Hi There,
I know many of you may already know, but as a little girl aged 6yrs old I lost my mum to suicide, at the time I didn’t know how my mum died, only I didn’t have a mum anymore and the pain in my little body was more than unbearable, all I wanted was my mum back, I’d cry begging for her to return only having to be told that she just couldn’t, the pain didn’t get any easier, instead worse as the other person I adored in my life, my grandma, my mums mum couldn’t cope any longer and she took her life, my world at 8yrs old was just complete heartache. I had no idea of how deeply this would continue to effect me through my life, I just don’t think I ever recovered until 2yrs ago, I just lived with that 6 year olds agony. While I have finally come to terms with loss, I will never forget either my mum or my grandma, so in honour of my mum Pauline and grandma Ruby, I am going to be doing 100km cycle ride, YES, 100km (🙈) on the 13th September, LONDON to BRIGHTON.
I will and very importantly be raising money and awareness for the charity (SOBS) Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide.
My dear friend Emma who’s also riding with me has set up a venue with 2 other incredible people in LEWISHAM as SE London didn’t have Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide location for people to go and talk through their pain.
Im SO PROUD these ladies have done this and I only wish something like this had been available to me when I was younger and I’m sure many others years ago, but SOBS has helped 1000s of people now through grief with their amazing work, so not only do I want to help financially by raising money, I’m in the process of applying to become a peer support at the new venue and ALL the money you help me raise will go DIRECTLY to helping keep this AMAZING CAUSE FUNDED for the people suffering the pain and grief of bereavement by suicide.
Even if you can only Donate £1, I promise that’s perfect, cause it’s £1 more that the charity will have...
This is a HUGE challenge for me and I really hope I make you all proud..💗💗
