We are 13 trainee firefighters for Cheshire fire and rescue service currently completing our 16 week whole time course and have decided to challenge ourselves, to raise awareness and give something back to a charity close to all our hearts.
On Friday 18th November we will be rowing the length of the River Weaver which is the longest river in Cheshire at 71 miles, we will be doing this in fire kit, in Chester city centre on rowing machines to raise money for the fire fighters charity.
The Fire Fighters Charity provides vital health and wellbeing support for our frontline firefighters, support and control staff. The Charity relies on individual donors to meet the £10m cost of operating it's services, in support of over 55,000 members of the UK’s fire services community. However, the coronavirus pandemic has hit its fundraising hard and, as it is not eligible for government support, it needs your donations now more than ever.
The charity relies on fundraising events and donations to fund services. Many of these events have been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic over the last few years and therefore its funds are beginning to dry up, any donations would be gratefully received. Please dig deep and as always we will do you all proud now and in our future careers serving our local communities and keeping you safe.
